Phuket Country Club

2006 ASM @ Phuket - staged from 23rd - 29th April 2006 at the Phuket Country Club

PHUKET COUNTRY CLUB was established in 1989, and was the first and one of the finest golf courses built in Phuket, over a reclaimed tin mine site. The stunning beauty and elegance of the course, together with the typical Thai charm and hospitality will make your golfing here a joyful & memorable occasion.

The following were awarded 'Best Courses in Thailand' - by Asian Golf Magazine 2001
1. Blue Canyon Country Club, - 2. Thai Country Club, - 3. Leam Chabang Golf Club
4. Alpine Golf and Sports Club and - 5. PHUKET COUNTRY CLUB

The following were awarded 'Best Holes Par-Five' - by Asian Golf Magazine 2001
1. Shan Shui Golf Club - Hole #4
2. Bintan LagoonGolf & Beach Resort - Hole #11 (Seaview Course)
3. Bukit Pelangi Golf Club - Hole #4
4. PHUKETCOUNTRY CLUB - Hole #10
5. Mission Hills Golf Club - Hole #7 (World Cup Course)

The OLD COURSE measuring some 6483 yards, is fun and friendly, and set in a valley. The fairways meander through the hills and limestone cliffs providing a strenuous yet comfortable walk along this beautiful resort 18-hole, par 72 golf course.

You will traverse 3 distinct environments:- six holes in undulating hills, six holes on the level and six holes through landscape forest. The course is generally not humiliating nor particularly intimidating (depending on your temperament, of course!) and wayward shots are not too severely penalized.

Although high handicappers have the best round of their lives and keep coming back for more, the low handicap golfers still find the course quite a challenge.

Hole #10, is a 557 yards par 5 and is one of the most unusual holes you will find anywhere in the world! The dog-leg right fairway that snakes around an enormous lake and yet to the brave of heart is reachable in one!

To achieve it, you must aim 90 degree right of the fairway - and be able to carry your drive 240 yards over the water. See layout hole #10 diagram.
