PRESS RELEASE - CHUNG LEADS AT MIDWAY

Phuket (April 26, 2006): Chinese Taipei's Chung Chun Hsing, leads the field by three strokes after completing 36 holes and looks all set to get his maiden win in the Asian Senior Tour.

Today, at the Phuket Asian Senior Masters second round play, the 51-year-old lanky golfer, set a blistering pace at Phuket Golf & Country Club by finishing with a 6-under 66 for a two round total of 9-under 135

Minutes later at the clubhouse, Chung raised his hands and said he could not speak English when approached by the media. However, with the help of an English-speaking friend, Chung said he had a fantastic game. "I had a bogey-free round and the birds kept coming. I picked up three strokes in my first four holes and that boosted my confidence," he said, while wiping the sweat off his spectacles.

Chung only missed the fairway twice and claimed that his ball striking was very good and it surprised himself too. "I've never seen myself strike any better than I did today," he said, adding that he hopes to get the same ball striking luck in the final round tomorrow.

Lying three strokes adrift (in second spot) is Chinese Taipei's Chang Chin Kuo who signed off with a 2-under 70 to total 138 over 36 holes while round one leader Chen Tsang Te also from Chinese Taipei played even today for his 139 total to drop to third place.

Tied on fourth spot is Malaysian evergreen M. Ramayah and the Philippines' R. Alit. The duo are even after two rounds. Ramayah, who last week won the Thailand Senior PGA Open at Royal Gems in Bangkok carded a 1-over 73 today, while Alit played to even par.

Australia's Stewart Ginn stayed within striking distance for a top three podium finish by playing to a 1-under 71 today for his 145 total. He shares the sixth spot with another Australian John Clifford - who had a bad day by completing the second round with a five-over 77 – and Thailand's Pachoen Prempreeda.

Dynasty Cup captain Hsieh Min Nan is the sole player sitting on 12th spot with a 147 total.
